Have you ever discovered a game where you need to level up and improve your skills in order to face the "last boss" later? Did you remember how you feel when you first started playing the game, and when it's the time for you to face the "last boss"?

I (the founder) think that those types of games are very kind.

It gives us time to learn from our mistake, reflect on our experiences, improve, progress, level up and let us face the challenges based on our current skills and experiences, until we are ready to face the "last boss".

Why do I think those types of games are very kind?

It's because it doesn't always work that way in the real life.

There are times when we are facing unexpected challenges we are not prepared for, as if we are facing the "last boss" before we are ready, and when this happens, most of us failed spectacularly! 

In the real life, it could be harsh, and it's often difficult to deal with negative consequences we need to face because we are facing the challenges we are not prepared for. 

However, it doesn't always needs to be this way...

We are now living in a hyper-competitive and oversaturated business world, and if you cannot innovate or differentiate yourself, it'll be difficult to stand out from the competition.

Innovation skills, such as creativity, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, problem-solving, resilience, adaptability, analytical skills, leadership, project management, communication and networking skills are the most valuable skills people and businesses are looking for nowadays, but it's also one of the most difficult skills to develop due to it's nature and complexity!

Let's accept it! Most of us cannot become a great leader by memorising theories all night! It's the same with innovation skills. We don't become a great innovator by memorising theories! It's just doesn't work that way, and traditional learning method can't bring you there! 

Innovation requires us to think creatively, take calculated risks, build trust that accelerates decision, and deal with unexpected challenges or uncertainty. Learning games can develop those innovation skills in context, repeatedly, and measurably, where traditional learning method usually cannot deliver!

Learning games provide a safe and fun environment where learners can experience the consequences of their decisions without real-world risk, to discover what work, what doesn't work, practice exact moves to win, re-design your strategies, so you can practice until you develop confidence, mental strength, and mastery to face complex business challenges, and use any obstacles you encounter to level up your skills and achieve better results. If someone asked you, "Would you rather lose game money or real-life money?" Most of us would agree that losing game money is less painful than losing real-life money we worked so hard to earn!

Traditional learning methods often doing a good job in explaining theories, but collapse under pressure, when market changes unexpectedly, when innovators face pushback during business negotiation, or when launch goes sideways, leaving you unprepared for the messy reality of real business challenges!

Have you ever wondered; how do pilots learn how to fly aeroplanes? 

I read an article that nowadays they learned from simulations. 

Could you imagine what would happen if someone who just started to learn how to fly aeroplanes is trying to “practice” in a “real flight”? Would you fly with this person? 

Of course not, right? 

Depending on the situation, there are times when we cannot afford to make mistakes.

In business, there are times when making a mistake can cost businesses million of dollars and affect many people too! 

But... How if we can keep practicing and learning from our mistakes, yet at the same time, prevent the terrible consequences altogether when we cannot afford to make mistakes? 

It sounds like a paradox!

But... How if we can have a safe place to practice, to learn from our mistakes, and to reflect on our experiences within the boundaries of the fantasy world, so we can be more prepared when facing challenges in the real world? How if we can lower the risk or even prevent innovation failures this way? How if we can keep practicing until we reach mastery, until mistakes are out of questions?

As a human, I make mistakes. I am sure that as a human, you too, may make some mistakes in your life. It's because we are human. However, I realised that most of the mistakes I made is costly. That's why I choose to level up my skills and learn as much as I can; it's because I understand the importance of reducing the risk and preventing negative consequences as much as possible in business, and I wish for people to be able to experience new and innovative way of learning through learning games, so they can achieve mastery and fortified to overcome challenges ahead!

Have you ever wondered; what will happen if you decided to challenge yourself to do something you never thought you can do?

In addition, if you let other people define you, they may define you based on their opinion, so it may be subjective, and not very objective. However, if you discover yourself, challenge yourself to accomplish what you never thought you can do, you can define who you truly are, regardless of other people's subjective opinion of you, and let those experiences become the evidence of your growth and become part of your identity!

When we understand ourselves better and see ourselves objectively, we will learn to see others more objectively as well, and it will enable us to make better decisions, communicate more effectively, enhance our relationships and teamwork, and expand our business opportunities.

Why the Founder decided to launch Story Reflection Games?

I designed Story Reflection Games because I understand that personal growth is the multiplier for business growth. I understand the importance of developing yourself and your innovation skills first, because as innovators or founders, if you want to grow your business, you will eventually need to lead a team, and when you have a team, you will need to build a great culture, and it's a lot of responsibilities, and these can be very challenging, especially if you are not prepared for it! If you haven't practices leading through uncertainty, regulating your emotions, or making strategic business decisions, you'll find it hard to grow these skills and capabilities in your team!

Furthermore, I realised that most people are too tired and too desensitised for another theories or traditional learning method that makes them bored or sleepy, and I want people to experience a new and innovative way of learning. I also realised that not many service providers offered this because not many people have the skill to design learning games, and I want to provide the opportunity for people to level up their innovation skills through learning games, so we can transform the learning experience like never before, collaborate to overcome challenges together, and achieve things we have never imagined before!
